It’s that time of year again… Super Bowl time.
Even if you don’t really care about American football, you probably care about the Super Bowl. The championship game of the NFL, the Super Bowl is a spectacle unlike any other sporting event on Earth: intense feats of athletic prowess, amazing musical performances, and super-creative ads… There’s a reason more and more Australians are tuning in to the Super Bowl every year.
The 2023 Super Bowl, officially Super Bowl LVII, will be played between the 2022 American Football Conference champions Kansas City Chiefs and the 2022 National Football Conference champions Philadelphia Eagles. It’s set to go down at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona (the Arizona Cardinals’ home ground) on Sunday February 12th at 4:30 pm MST (Monday February 13th at 10:30 am AEDT).
If seeing some A-grade football wasn’t enough of a draw for you, pop superstar Rihanna has been announced as the headliner of the halftime show, which will be her first live performance in over five years.
If you’re wanting to watch the United States’ biggest sporting event of the year, you’re not alone. Therefore, we’ve rounded up which Sydney sports bars and pubs are hosting special events for this year’s Super Bowl, where you’ll be able to enjoy the game with your mates over classic American food and delicious beer.
Being that the game kicks off on Monday morning here in Australia, you might want to take the day off work (and make sure you organise some roses for your partner, as Tuesday is also Valentine’s Day…) Once you’ve got all that sorted, you’ll be able to indulge in as many pints and wings as you like while watching Super Bowl LVII at one of the following awesome places.
Forrester’s
336 Riley St, Surry Hills
An iconic tavern that’s been operating for over 100 years is Forrester’s in Surry Hills. The pub has multiple big-screen TVs and always has a fun, energetic atmosphere.
Forrester’s doors will open at 9 am, but to get in on the fun, you’ll need to get a ticket. For $40 per person, their Super Bowl Viewing Party package gets you a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and chicken wings on arrival, plus a half-time cheeseburger with chips. If that’s not enough to get your blood pumping, $30 PBR buckets and the option to add on a 2-hour beverage pack might sweeten the deal.
Harts Pub
Cnr of Gloucester & Essex Streets, The Rocks
Harts Pub is proud of its reputation as one of Australia’s iconic craft beer venues. A heritage-listed building with 8 big screen TVs, as well as an extra one in the pub’s beer garden, Harts Pub has an authentic vibe; perfect for the Super Bowl.
Like other venues, they’re selling a special Super Bowl package which you’ll need if you wanna get in. For $85, you’ll get all-you-can-eat chicken wings, onion rings and a bacon and egg roll on arrival. It also comes with a 3-hour drinks package starting at 10 am – 1 pm for house beers and wine. Class.

Alternatively, you can reserve your own private booth with their premium restaurant package which includes your own BoothTV and table service, or you can snap up a GA ticket to get guaranteed entry on the day.
