After 16 years of selling AoM merch, we’ve made the decision to get out of the merch business.

Over the past few years running the store has proven to be an expensive endeavor with extremely slim profit margins. Stuff is just more expensive — both making it and shipping it. And the number of operational and logistical headaches has grown.

There just isn’t enough ROI in sustaining the store to justify its suck on bandwidth. The older I get, the more I see the wisdom in simplifying — putting greater and greater focus on the stuff that really matters.

We’ll continue to sell our ebooks in the store (did you know we sell a number of super good ebooks?), and if the right idea for a really cool product or t-shirt comes along, I’m game for offering it to our fans. But, effective indefinitely, we’re going to stop selling physical merchandise.
