Kit Harington was recently asked how he maintains his mental health these days. He said that talk therapy was one way, and exercise was another.
Kit Harington, the English actor who played the serious, long haired, heart-throbbing bastard Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, recently appeared on The View, an American talk show which has been running for 26 seasons where “five women with very different outlooks on politics, Hollywood and its stars, and current events discuss these and other divisive topics of the day.”
While on the panel, Kit was asked how he maintains his mental health. He said: “I’m a big believer in talk therapy and I went through a lot of that when I went through… the thing I went through.”
“I still to this day, I have, for want of a better word, support groups that I go to where I talk and that helps me – and I do a lot of exercise which, you know, stops my brain going crazy.”
“It’s something, you know, I’m pretty passionate about… I think more needs to be done especially for young men to open them up to help them talk about things… it shocked me again that the biggest killer of men under 45 is suicide. That’s a crazy fact.”

Previously, Kit has spoken about how he needed to take a year’s break after he finished on the set of Game of Thrones, admitting that the intense, emotional and violent nature of Game of Thrones became a lot.
“I went through some mental health difficulties after Thrones, and during the end of Thrones, to be honest,” Harington told The Jess Cagle Show (per Hollywood Reporter). “I think it was directly due to the nature of the show and what I had been doing for years.”
Kit also told Variety: “I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world when actually, I felt very vulnerable.”
