A passenger on a bright Ballina to Sydney flight has spotted another passenger sleeping peacefully – with not an eyemask in sight.
A Jetstar passenger has been spotted demonstrating a genius sleeping mask hack, which is an excellent solution for anyone on a sunny Australian flight. If you’ve forgotten your eye mask, and you’re on a daytime flight too short for cabin crew to dim the lights, then you can stop light busting into your retinas with the simple combination of a hoodie and sunglasses.
As demonstrated in the above image, if you have these two common travel items, then you can solve your sleep-related woes by pinning one arm of your jumper to your face with your sunglasses. If you don’t have sunglasses, or you simply don’t value breathing, then you can also simply chuck your whole jumper over your head, as shown by the slightly less enterprising passenger in the right of the image.
As a bonus, replacing your eye mask with a jumper also stops you from drooling on your neighbour’s shoulder (or all over your chin). Now that’s a win.
This isn’t the only way you can improve your inflight sleep experience. As ex flight attendant Kat Kamalani once shared on TikTok, particularly for long haul flights, there are certain things you can do in order to maximise the chances you will get a good night’s sleep.
“I was a flight attendant for 6 years and these are the things I wish I knew before flying in the middle of the night that would make my travel so much easier,” she said.

“Depending on what kind of flight attendant you get, the lights are either going to be on or off.”
For this reason, Kat says you should get comfortable by bringing a mask, ear plugs, comfy clothes, essential oils, a blanket and a pillow “to tell your body it’s time to go to sleep.”
She also said you shouldn’t be afraid to ask flight attendants to help you if you are too hot or too cold, as they are always happy to give you an extra blanket or to help you with your air conditioning. The post Jetstar Passenger Shows ‘Genius’ Way To Sleep Without A Facemask appeared first on DMARGE.
