  • Main Card: Sunday 23 October – 5am AEDT

Because of the time difference, UFC 280 will be broadcast in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 23 October.

In Australia, the preliminary card starts at 1am AEDT. The main card is set to kick off at 5am AEDT.

For Aussie MMA fans keen to set their alarm and wake up to watch the main event, Oliveira and Makhachev’s cage walks are scheduled for 8am AEDT, but this could change depending on the length of the undercard fights.

Charles Oliveira vs. Islam Makhachev is one of the most intriguing lightweight bouts of all time. Oliveira wants to cement his place as one of the greatest lightweight fighters in the history of the UFC, whilst Makhachev looks to follow in the footsteps of best-friend Khabib Nurmagomedov and regain the belt for the first time.

Will Alexander Volkanovski be fighting at UFC 280?

The No. 1 ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world and UFC Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is turning a lot of heads this weekend.

The Aussie badass is flying out to Abu Dhabi and will act as the back-up for the main event, should either Oliveira or Makhachev pull-out last minute.

He told MMA Junkie, “I’m just going through the week as if it’s a normal fight week and I’m fighting.”

Even if we do not see him in the Octagon on Sunday morning, UFC President Dana White has confirmed he will be receiving the next title shot with whoever wins this weekend.

Will Joe Rogan be commentating on UFC 280?

Joe Rogan will not be commentating at UFC 280 for Charles Olivera vs. Islam Makhachev. The long-time commentator and popular podcast host rarely travels outside of America for events anymore and has confirmed he will be in London for the upcoming card.
